Victim Identification The Royal Thai Police, in cooperation with the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security has developed criteria for victim identification which results in a victim identification form, to be used as a standard for victim identification among concerned agencies.

The reform had included modernization of the penal procedure code, which entrusted to the public prosecutor the role of leading investigations and prosecution, as well as specific responsibilities relevant to the Convention, in the areas of protection of victims and witnesses and the provision of judicial cooperation to foreign States.

Particularly important areas of cooperation in the field are communications, transportation, logistics and security, including the protection of victims, witnesses and investigators, as well as the provision of access to suspects and the collection of evidence and documents.

With regard to trafficking in children, the Government of Japan focused on the protection of the victims and a stricter application of the law. To that end, it had established an inter agency team responsible for coordinating the fight against that illegal activity.
