Here, we should also like to reaffirm our support for the establishment of an International Finance Facility.

We would also have wished to see more ambitious sections on environment, on human rights and on disarmament.

We would also like once again to express our gratitude to Mr. Egeland for his efforts to improve the situation for civilian populations.

That is certainly a method of work that we would encourage.

We want to hear from all readers, contributors, friends.

There is one element the resolution about which we would like to express some thoughts.

In that regard, we would like to make the following points.

In addition to the practice of missions conducted by the Council, we would also like to support the holding of extraordinary meetings outside Headquarters, such as the meeting held at Nairobi last November.

We welcome the focus on gender equality in development issues, but we would also like to see a focus on gender equality and the role of women in efforts to promote peace and conflict resolution.

We would like to amend paragraph 10 to read as follows

The second question we would ask concerns the following.

Finally, we would ask that youth be involved in processes established to resolve that problem.

But, first, we would like to draw the attention of the Security Council to some principled conclusions.

As we have indicated in our report, we want to interact much more closely with the AU.

We wish also to highlight the special constitutional nature of the Venezuelan State as a popular and participative democracy.

We would therefore like to appeal to the international community to urgently address the shortfalls.

We would like to ban deployment in space of any type of offensive weapon.

In this context, we would like to stress again the need to use the correct geographical names.

So we would like to express our doubt as to whether it is useful to discuss your proposal any further.

We would like to thank people who worked hard to make this collaboration possible on both sides.

In doing so, we did not want to diminish the importance of the so called technical issues.

We would like to note, however, that the decision taken by the Security Council is not fully satisfactory to us.

We also wish to recall that a similar resolution was adopted without a vote last year.
