Over the period 2003 2005, several meetings and workshops were held, mainly to provide guidance and input to the regional report on social policies.

The ultimate goal of the project is adoption of new water sector legislation, harmonized with that of the EU, particularly the Framework Directive on Water (Directive 2000 60 EC, European Parliament and Council, of 23 October 2000).
