The role of the Security Council in that regard is extremely important.

In this connection, the Committee would appreciate it if this letter, together with its enclosure, were brought to the attention of the members of the Security Council and issued as a document of the Council.

In that regard, we consider it to be in our common interest that Security Council reform not be prolonged.

In that regard, Africa's call for the expansion of the Security Council should be supported by the international community.

In that regard, both the Treaty and the IAEA Statute relied on the Security Council.

In this connection, the Committee would appreciate it if the present letter, together with its enclosure, were brought to the attention of the members of the Security Council and issued as a document of the Council.

In this regard, Tonga maintains its support of Japan's proper and permanent place on any enhanced Council.

Key bodies are the re established Ministerial Cooperation Council on Police Matters and the Police Steering Board.

The Security Council's referral of the situation in Darfur under resolution 1593 (2005) is particularly relevant in that respect.

The Security Council reaffirms its full support for the peace process in Somalia and the commitment of the United Nations to assist in this regard.

How to contribute effectively to regional organizations' capacity building? What can the Council do in this respect?

In that regard, we commend the efforts of the Chairman of the IAEA Board of Governors and hope that the present draft resolution will be adopted by consensus.

In that regard, we are disappointed by the relative inaction by Member States in seeking progress on Security Council reform.

In that connection, the Republic of Korea was open to any constructive proposal, including the idea of requiring the Security Council's approval for a withdrawal.

In that regard, coordination by the Security Council with the Economic and Social Council in accordance with the provisions of Article 65 of the Charter has a fundamental role to play in the promotion of sustainable development.

In this regard, the Security Council unequivocally demands that Eritrea immediately reverse its decision without preconditions.

In that connection, Africa is fully entitled to claim its permanent seat on the Security Council, side by side with the other continents.

In that connection, those who advocate the swift adoption of concrete decisions on so important an issue as Security Council reform have a serious responsibility.

The operational role of regional organizations in peacekeeping and peacebuilding missions under the Council's aegis is especially relevant.

We believe that the organization of today's meeting proceeds from the determination and willingness of the Security Council to continue to shoulder its responsibilities in this regard.

In that respect, we look forward to cooperation between the IAEA and the Security Council Committee established pursuant to resolution 1540 (2004).

The launching of the Democracy Fund and the intention to continue work on the establishment of the Human Rights Council need to be consolidated, and our objectives in this regard should be reinforced and carried out.

In our view, now is the time for firmer action in that regard, including action by the Security Council.

In this respect, the Recommendation (2002)5 of the Committee of Minister of the Council of Europe for Protection of Women from Violence has been translated into the Macedonian and into the Albanian languages.

Mindful of the fact that it is essential to provide the Operation with the necessary financial resources to enable it to fulfil its responsibilities under the relevant resolutions of the Security Council,

In that regard, we note the thrust of the recommendations for Security Council reform, in particular the drive to expand the Council and make it a representative body.

In that respect, we call on African members of the General Assembly to support this proposal, since it greatly enhances African influence in the Security Council.

Certainly, significant progress is being made, in particular the proposal to transform the Commission on Human Rights into a Human Rights Council.

In that regard, the Security Council must remain actively seized of the case of Côte d'Ivoire, which must be kept on its agenda.

In addition, the Security Council should consider taking action with a view to identifying ways of assisting countries to overcome the hardships caused by sanctions.

They also considered that regular dialogue on specific issues between the Security Council and regional organizations would bring significant added value in this respect.

The Governing Council Global Ministerial Environment Forum notes with encouragement current efforts by the international community in this regard.

In that regard, the Council of Ministers was currently discussing amendments to a large number of legal provisions in order to bring national legislation into line with the relevant international instruments.

In that context, his delegation supported the efforts of the Security Council to expand the scope of application of the Convention on the Safety of United Nations and Associated Personnel.

We therefore welcome the establishment of a Democracy Fund at the United Nations and invite the Secretary General to establish an advisory board to provide policy guidance.

Security Council members will be invited to debate modalities to achieve the aforementioned purposes and support a Security Council resolution as an initial step in this respect.

Counsel refers in this connection to a report on Sweden, dated 8 July 2004, of the Council of Europe, in which criticism was expressed about the use of guarantees.

In that connection, the Security Council, as the organ that must demand universal compliance with its decisions, must be the first to act under democratic criteria.

In this regard, the Panel considers that appropriate remediation activities should be commenced as soon as possible following approval of any remediation awards by the Governing Council.

In this regard, the Board of Trustees, at its forty third session, maintained its request to have the rental and maintenance costs, currently covered by the General Fund, borne by the regular budget of the United Nations.

Decides to submit this decision to the United Nations Security Council to obtain its support and, to this end, requests the Chairperson of the Commission to take all the necessary steps

We attach particular importance to the issue of human rights. We believe that the new Human Rights Council should reflect, with courage and ambition, the growing demands of the international community in that regard.

In this regard, and in accordance with Security Council resolution 1325 (2000), I emphasize the importance of the full involvement of Palestinian and Israeli women in the peace process.

In that connection, she underlined the responsibility of the Security Council to act without delay in reply to applications submitted by States under Article 50 of the Charter and to address the hardships incurred by third States.

In that regard, reflection must be undertaken on how to streamline the process of requesting States' reports so that a consolidated report can be produced relating to their obligations under the various Security Council resolutions on terrorism.
