What Communism Still Teaches Us

We are still in the very early stages.

I think we are still in Poland!

We are undefeated only because we have continued trying.

We know what happened.

We are still far from accomplishing the goals of the Millennium Declaration.

Yet we still do not take the threat seriously enough.

We all know what to do.

We still do not know the nature of the era ahead of us we can only be certain that the global economy is in the middle of a major transition, and that the old ways will not work anymore.

Racism and xenophobia are issues with which we are still grappling.

Some progress has been made, but we continue to face many difficulties and challenges.

Despite the IPCC s target for annual per capita CO2 emissions, we still do not know how much warming various levels of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere will cause.

Thirty years later, some of the consequences are still being felt.

On the other hand, we are far from achieving all those ambitions.

We all know what we have to do.

Today, we remain mostly unconcerned about global population growth.

Amid this gloomy outlook, we anxiously look for encouraging signs.

Even if all goes well, we still can't finish before Saturday.

Now why would we know what Beethoven's skull looks like?

Whether they can successfully perform this difficult act, remains to be seen.

We still seem to understand that at least we need the police to protect us from a few bad people.

But, sadly, we are still fighting the Taliban and Al Qaeda.

These are early days in the quantitative study of sustainable development.

We still strongly believe that verification is technically feasible and politically desirable.

Once we figure out all that's going on and believe me, we know almost a percent of what's going on once we figure out what's going on, we're really going to be able to have a lot of control over what we do with our health, with what we do with future generations, and how long we're going to live.

I think we all love it but we do not know how to love it,

But we do need to know their minds and their mentality.

We know what the issues are we know where the problems lie.

We continue to expect this.

Although it seems we are still at that impasse, I discern some potential avenues to take us out of it.

But we still do not have an adequate framework for dealing with such problems.

Yet we continue to believe that social cohesion can be limited to that of the nation.

Reforms are still needed including an overhaul of the global reserve system.

We still remember when he said that Iran is the only country where there is no hunger.

We continue to urge the possessors to take every possible step to meet these deadlines.

My fourth point addresses accountability and transparency. Countries with nuclear weapons should publish more information about what they are doing to fulfill their disarmament commitments. While most of these countries have revealed some details about their weapons programs, we still do not know how many nuclear weapons exist worldwide. The UN Secretariat could serve as a repository for such data.Disarmament must be visible to the public.

We don t yet know what is possible.

But we simply don t know what should replace things that are eliminated.

We're still inventing, and this is what technology is allowing us to do it's continually to reinvent ourselves.

For all these reasons, the institutional reforms that are contained in the constitutional treaty are still urgently needed.

For example, there are still too many barriers to agricultural trade between the North and the South.

We still need modern medical equipment, though, and we ask our donors to give priority attention to this area.

Still, there is little indication so far that the two reform laggards are up to the challenge.

When we want to influence somebody, we've got to know what already influences them.

We know.
