We intend to ensure through the programme the strengthening of democratic government and economic growth in our country.

That set the pace and direction of much of our work over the past few months.

Through the integrated programme, UNIDO could assist in bringing those opportunities to the attention of international investors.

The programme enhanced cooperation with various organizations and institutions through the signature of memorandums of understandings.

This programme is financed through a grant under the multi donor demobilization and reintegration programme, managed by the World Bank, and by the World Bank itself.

We estimate that through that contribution to the programme, we will help save the lives of 250,000 children over the next 20 years.

WFP's collaboration with UNICEF intensified during 2004, as reflected in the initiatives listed below.
