The Office proposes to include those audits in the comprehensive management audit and to utilize the foreseen resources in the support account budget towards the resource requirements for the comprehensive management audit of the Department of Peacekeeping Operations.

Consequently, the resources proposed in the support account budget for those two audits will be reprioritized into the total resource requirements for the comprehensive management audit, thereby reducing the additional resources requested in the present statement.

The Development Account encourages collaborative efforts between various United Nations departments and entities in implementing innovative cross sectoral activities that draw on the technical, human and other resources available in developing countries.

More seriously, an astounding 89.2 of the IMF s General Resources Account is outstanding to European countries, with just three countries (Greece, Portugal, and Ireland) accounting for 68 .

As indicated below, such resources would total 3,144,400 under the budgets for the support account and various peacekeeping missions.

This represents the first time UNDP has undertaken a full recalculation of TRAC 1.1.1 earmarkings within a programming period.

We hope that the resources mobilized as a result of this tragedy will truly be additional resources, and that they will not come at the expense of economic and social tsunamis , such as poverty, hunger, and HIV AIDS.
