In partnership with the Ministry of Social Affairs, ILO supported the establishment in Hebron of a vocational and rehabilitation centre for people with disabilities and special needs.

The programme, Legal affairs, is implemented by the Office of Legal Affairs.

The Office of the Special Adviser on Gender Issues and Advancement of Women in the Department of Economic and Social Affairs is responsible for promoting, facilitating and monitoring gender mainstreaming throughout the United Nations system.

The Department of Economic and Social Affairs stated that the role of the Special Adviser was to counsel the Secretary General on gender and to facilitate inter agency collaboration and coordination to achieve gender equality and integrate gender perspectives in all programmes and policies.

He wondered whether the Special Rapporteur had put forward any specific recommendations on her visit to enhance the protection of civilians and security of humanitarian workers.

On the Government of the Sudan side, the missions included representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, the Ministry of Justice and the Humanitarian Affairs Commission.
