The members elected by the staff may be recalled by a majority vote of the staff at the duty station at which the Committee is established, taken at the initiative of any staff representative body at that duty station.

D. Entitlements of internationally recruited staff serving in non family duty stations

Staff productivity and cost elements should be considered together because staff cost structures differ across duty stations, in particular between field and Headquarters locations.

According to the Secretariat, at present, about 700 posts for internationally recruited staff have been utilized in special political missions at duty stations classified as hazard duty stations.

As at 4 September 2005, the Mission had on board 471 international staff, 67 of whom are on temporary duty, 677 national staff and 53 United Nations Volunteers.

All the Professional staff would carry out the on duty operator functions of the call centre on a rotating basis.

Payments will be effected in the currency applicable to staff in the Professional and higher categories serving at the official duty station Vienna, Austria.

This estimate has been based on the actual number of UNHCR staff by duty station and on averages for salaries and years of service.

Family visit travel may be granted once every year in which the staff member's home leave does not fall due, except for eligible staff members serving at designated duty stations in respect of which special conditions shall apply.

The wall fence around Jerusalem is having a particular impact on UNRWA operations, as even access to duty stations for staff has become a serious problem.

(ii) Staff members who are considered as having been locally recruited under rule 104.6, when they are on mission assignment away from their parent duty station.

22. Welcomes the intention of the Secretary General to provide staff with more specific training opportunities, with a view to preparing staff for diverse responsibilities, working in different departments, offices, duty stations or peacekeeping missions and moving across occupational groups

The incumbents would assist the Ombudsman in carrying out her functions and servicing the staff of the respective United Nations offices based in these duty stations and would be able to provide ad hoc assistance to staff in peacekeeping missions.

A three to five day programme at each duty station would include training of staff serving on panels in the form of a series of seminars on applications of the Staff Regulations and Rules, policies, procedures, precedents and different recourse processes.

10. Requests the Secretary General to provide at all duty stations the adequate staff and grade level with a view to ensuring appropriate quality control for external translations

As these staff receive the post adjustment applicable to their home duty station, the average salary cost was higher than the standard cost used in the budget estimates.

When an occasional peak at one duty station coincides with a low period at another, staff loans take place to make more efficient use of the resources available.

(h) Any case relating to a staff member serving at a duty station where a standing Joint Disciplinary Committee is established shall be referred to that Committee, unless the Secretary General considers there is a good reason to refer the case to a standing Committee at a different duty station or to an ad hoc Committee at the same or another duty station.

(iii) On change of official duty station, provided that the services of the staff member at the new duty station are expected by the Secretary General to continue for more than six months beyond the date on which travel of his or her family members commences

However, in the case of designated duty stations having very difficult conditions of life and work, eligible staff members shall be granted home leave once in every twelve months.

17. Further requests the Secretary General to continue to consider the use of incentives with a view to encouraging staff to move to duty stations with chronically high vacancy rates

Additional requirements were due mainly to a higher proportion of staff on temporary duty assignment status from United Nations offices in New York and Geneva as opposed to Mission appointees.

The classification of duty stations as family or non family for United Nations civilian staff will be addressed in the context of the revised conditions of service in the field missions.

To ensure the safety of lives, property and goods kept in the port area, port security staff, in cooperation with the local police, are on duty on an around the clock basis.

The International Civil Service Commission (ICSC) established a working group, in which UNICEF actively participated, to develop various options for compensating staff for service in hardship duty stations and for encouraging mobility.

Finally, he stressed that corporations' duty to obey the law in this field was not merely a duty of form but a duty of substance.

The Staff Union at the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) has requested that the New York Coordinator visit Santiago to establish a Panel of Counsel, as two staff members who have been providing counsel to their ECLAC colleagues will be leaving the duty station shortly.
