1 Webmaster Information Technology Officer (FS)

A Public Information Unit, responsible for overall media relations and producing an overall information strategy, is to be staffed with one Public Information Officer (P 4) and a Webmaster Information Technology Officer (Field Service).

The conversion of a Professional post at the P 4 level is requested for the Information Technology Unit for the performance of the functions of Technology Officer.

The overall composition of the secretariat that assists the Joint Inspection Unit remains unchanged and consists of 19 staff members, although the completion of several information technology related projects allowed the redeployment in 2004 of one Information Technology Officer (P 3) as Research Officer (P 3), thus strengthening the research capacity of the Unit.

The Security Officer function is currently performed at the P 4 level by the Information Technology Officer and, as a result of the Fund's expanded usage of distributed systems and the Internet, ICT security oversight has become a major factor of internal control, requiring a dedicated resource.

The Committee notes that the ONUB staffing table includes separate posts for information analysis, Strategic Planning Officer and Best Practices Officer.
