The Acting Executive Chairman briefed the Commissioners on the activities of UNMOVIC since their last meeting.

The meeting was convened in order to elect a new Vice chairman of the Executive Committee.

She had since been informed by the Chairman of the Group of African States that the Group had nominated Mr. Saizonou (Benin) for the remaining post of Vice Chairman.

The Chairman recalled that as he was unfortunately unable to continue in his duties as Chairman, the Executive Committee needed to elect a new Chairman to replace him for the remainder of his term of office.

I would like to thank Ambassador Andrey Denisov, Chairman of the CTC, and Ambassador Javier Rupérez, Executive Director of the Executive Directorate of the Committee, for their work.
