The Institute's training programmes for capacity building are further reinforced by information exchange, technical cooperation, advocacy and publications.

The programme will operate through advocacy, tools development and knowledge management, as well as direct capacity building at the local level.

Advocacy evaluation, also called public policy advocacy design, monitoring, and evaluation, evaluates the progress or outcomes of advocacy, such as changes in public policy.

However, such efforts should focus on the capacity building of national machinery, particularly in the area of raising awareness for gender mainstreaming and equality through training, advocacy and socialization, targeting various executive and legislative authorities.

E. Advocacy, education and outreach efforts the need for multi stakeholder approaches

The type of support provided by the Programme for local implementation of the Millennium Development Goals has included a combination of advocacy, country assessment, policy advice, capacity building, project demonstration and field testing of approaches and instruments.
