Since 1994 the Roma Sinti (gypsies) have been an officially recognised ethnic minority in Austria.

Spain can be justly proud of the way it has dealt with its own Roma minority.

A minority population which is almost totally neglected in Bosnia and Herzegovina, is the Roma population.

The statistics on the education of the Roma minority showed that the number of Roma children in primary school had risen by one third between 2001 and 2003 and there were now 13 schools specifically for Roma pupils.
