A Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Status of Women was established in 2004. As of June 2005, the Committee has released reports on funding of women's equality seeking organizations, gender based analysis and pay equity.

Funding Congress has consistently provided less funding for the program than the president has requested.

Demand led funding' provided via parents will replace supply led funding' by the municipal authorities.
