It encourages the Government to continue the process of de mining, as well as to continue its efforts to prevent and limit risks to the population especially to displaced and returned persons and to strengthen mechanisms for assisting victims of anti personnel landmines.

From the beginning of the bombing campaign in Yemen, US personnel have been assisting the Saudis with targeting information. They fly airborne tankers to refuel Saudi fighter jets between bombing raids. And they assist the Saudi navy with its coastal blockade of Yemen s commercial seaports.

Natural disaster situations should not be included in the scope of application of the Convention, unless the State in question wished them to be included, since in such situations there was no exceptional risk for United Nations personnel engaged in assisting the affected population.
