(c) Approves the creation of the post of Assistant High Commissioner (Protection) at the Assistant Secretary General level, to be funded from voluntary funds, with effect from 1 January 2006

In March, the Committee received an update on management reforms and discussed the proposal to create a post of Assistant High Commissioner (Protection).

It comprised the Deputy High Commissioner as chairperson, the Assistant High Commissioner, the Controller, the Directors of International Protection and of Human Resources Management and one external qualified professional, the recently retired Director of Administration of the United Nations Office at Geneva.
