In June 2005, the Sex Discrimination Commissioner released a discussion paper entitled Striking the balance Women, men, work and family (available at www.hreoc.gov.au), which explores women's and men's choices for balancing their competing work and family responsibilities.

For starters, the work family balance is no longer a women s issue.

But all I learned about work life balance from that year was that I found it quite easy to balance work and life when I didn't have any work.

So I went back to work, and I've spent these seven years since struggling with, studying and writing about work life balance.

The present working paper is in two parts.

In particular, I decided I would try to address the thorny issue of work life balance.

In this regard the CGE, through the secretariat, invited LEG members to provide feedback on the training material developed for the CGE hands on training workshop on vulnerability and adaptation assessments for the Africa region, held in April 2005 in Maputo, Mozambique.

But trans Pacific peace must be based on a balance not of power but of mutual benefit.

The chairpersons requested the Secretariat to pursue this work and prepare a background paper for the next inter committee meeting on the possible uses of indicators.

The first part of the working paper, which Mr. Salama authored, discussed the potential for institutional complementarity and mutual reinforcement of human rights law and international humanitarian law.

The following section presents those areas, along with the options chosen to offset the increase in each one of them and minimize the overall growth in requirements to almost zero.
