The majority of developing countries are mainly concerned with setting up informative e tourism websites to market their destinations.

It provides information concerning basic trends in the spread and usage of ICT with a focus on developing countries.

10. Welcomes the contributions of donor countries to the strengthening of the Small Island Developing States Unit and the Small Island Developing States Information Network, and encourages other Member States to make contributions, in particular in support of the Network

Like for example, applying the Internet, which is now ubiquitous, in the rural areas of China or in Africa, to bringing health information to developing areas of the world.

10. Welcomes the contributions of Germany, Italy, Japan and Norway to the strengthening of the Small Island Developing States Unit, and encourages other Member States to make contributions, in particular, in support of the Small Island Developing States Information Network

8. Invites the International Meeting to consider fully the modalities for strengthening the Small Island Developing States Unit, including the Small Island Developing States Network, to enable it to assist effectively in the implementation of the outcomes of the International Meeting

In developing markets, one of the principal obstacles facing SME access to capital is the lack of adequate information on their financial condition and creditworthiness.

We believe also that the Small Island Developing States Unit within the Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA) and the Small Island Developing States Network (SIDSnet) should be sustainably staffed and appropriately reinforced so that it can effectively service this important group of countries.

The secretariat continues to make information on this process available to developing countries that may wish to use it as a way of indicating the difficulties they face in the safe management of hazardous pesticide formulations.
