While the data collection process had been difficult on account of time constraints, the overall results of the consultations had been positive.

We are particularly pleased that the due process of consultations with Member States has taken place over the past two months.

Mr. Williams (United Kingdom) said the consultation process between his Government and its 10 overseas territories was continuing.

The present note has benefited from consultations with staff of the major institutional stakeholders in the financing for development follow up process.

After further consultations, if necessary, with the States concerned, the President of the General Assembly shall submit the list of candidates to the Assembly for appointment.

We look to the General Assembly President to take a lead in holding consultations to achieve this.

In bilateral consultations, several delegations noted that the lack of a consolidated text of the convention created practical difficulties for decision making.

We must however, ensure that the reform process is based on broad consultation and consensus involving all Member States.

Mr. INKIRIWANG (Indonesia) welcomed the continuing process of informal consultations among Member States and with other United Nations bodies and international organizations.

The consultations are centred on water, health and education, and the initial findings will be reported to the General Assembly in 2005.44

Those general consultations will be followed by thematic consultations to be held by the 10 facilitators on the four main clusters of issues contained in the report.

The Committee urges the State party to bear in mind that public consultation is a requirement in the reporting process, the objective of which is to inform the general public and to generate interest and debate on the steps the State party has undertaken in fulfilling its treaty obligations under the Covenant.

The Committee requests the State party to provide in its next periodic report detailed information on the public consultation process in the preparation of the report, including a listing of all civic organizations or non governmental organizations consulted.

Informal consultations of the plenary on follow up to the World Summit Outcome on development and Economic and Social Council reform

Peru is convinced of the need to continue to increase the efficiency of the informal consultations on the two draft resolutions under consideration by the General Assembly.

On the issue of the reform of the Security Council, the General Assembly, the Economic and Social Council and the Secretariat, the views of Solomon Islands were set out during the most recent informal consultations.

Although the process of consultations is still continuing, I have been informed by the African Group of its nomination of Ambassador Sylvester Rowe, Deputy Permanent Representative of Sierra Leone, as the Chairman of the Commission.

During the public consultations, disappointment was also expressed that the only option proposed was the ministerial form of government.10

During public consultation periods, it enables the public to edit the plan with the same editing rights as city personnel and councilors.

I thank the Co Chairs of the various plenary consultations, the Committee Chairs and others who have worked so hard to bring about results of which we should be proud.

The Action Group on Asylum and Migration (AGAMI), which grew out of UNHCR's Global Consultations process, showed early progress but has yet to realize its potential.

In addition, special thanks to Ms. Beate Maeder Metcalf and Mr. Axel Keuchle for having led the consultations with the delegations, resulting in the successful adoption of the resolution.

Public administration revitalization is, as mentioned above, a complex process.
