The Board also recommended, and UNDP agreed, that it evaluate the feasibility of extending the comprehensive audit recommendation database system to include monitoring of the status of implementation of audit recommendations made by the nationally executed expenditure project auditors.

However, given the fact that a study for such a comprehensive review was completed in 1992, the Committee expresses some concern about the slow pace of the review.

Our responsibility is to express an opinion on these financial statements based on our audit.

Comment by the Administration. The internal audit section continues to monitor the implementation of recommendations and the follow up action of the geographic divisions in regard to the implementation of internal audit recommendations.

In the light of this statement from the auditor of the accounts provided by the individual claimant, the Panel has placed no reliance on those audited financial statements and has instead valued the corporate losses with reference to the audited financial statements provided by the family of the Kuwaiti shareholder.
