While many believe that United Nations reform cannot be complete without Security Council reform, it needs to be emphasized also that United Nations reform cannot be complete without General Assembly reform.

The same would be true of a reformed Security Council.

The reform of the United Nations also requires the reform of the Secretariat.

And we must, of course, get down to reforming the Security Council.

The reform of our Organization would be incomplete without Security Council reform.

Without it, reform of the entire security sector would have been incomplete.

The reform agenda of the United Nations is much broader than just Security Council reform.

Basically, reforming the United Nations is no different from reforming a nation.

Police reform must be more fully aligned with reform of the other pillars of security sector.

However, we would like to reiterate that reform of the Organization must be seen as a process and undertaken as a systemic exercise, and must never assume the form solely of the reform of the Security Council.

The Government, the United Nations and donors agreed to a substantive overhaul of the Commission.

The Kyrgyz Republic shares the position that United Nations reform will be successful only if Security Council reform is followed by reform of the General Assembly and the Economic and Social Council.

The new parliament would then work on constitutional reform.

We support reform of the UN that enhances the effectiveness of the organization.
