وفي أكتوبر تشرين الأول 2008 عقدت المملكة محادثات وساطة بين طالبان والحكومة الأفغانية تلبية للطلب الذي تقدم به قرضاي إلى الملك عبد الله ، الذي وصفه قرضاي بأنه زعيم العالم الإسلامي .	In October 2008, the Kingdom held mediation talks between the Taliban and the Afghan government following Karzai s request to King Abdullah, whom Karzai describes as the leader of the Muslim world.

ومن ثم، فإن وساطة الاتحاد الأفريقي تتخذ الخطوات اللازمة في هذا الشأن.	The AU mediation is therefore taking the necessary steps in this regard.

وفي ذلك الصدد، ندعو الدول إلى أن تقدم إلى العدالة مرتكبي الجرائم التي تدخل ضمن الولاية القضائية للمحكمة وأن تقدم المساعدة القانونية العاجلة في تلك الحالات.	In that respect, we call on States to bring to justice the perpetrators of crimes that fall within the Court's jurisdiction and to provide expeditious legal assistance in such situations.

In general, the AU mediation believes that significant progress has been made with regard to the adoption of the legislation prescribed by the Linas Marcoussis Agreement.
