In that context, we must take into consideration the proposals of the Johannesburg Plan of Implementation adopted at the World Summit on Sustainable Development, which calls for the maintenance of the productivity and biodiversity of important and vulnerable marine and coastal areas, including in areas within and beyond national jurisdiction.

The navy did not sport the royal titles common with other European navies like the British Royal Navy.
