The results of the survey will be one of the inputs to the CGE report to the SBI at its twenty fourth session on ways to improve access to financial and technical support.

The SCA mission is to build a new generation of conservation managers by inspiring lifelong stewardship of the environment and communities by engaging high school and college age volunteers in hands on service to the land.

The CGE also ensures that representatives of other expert groups take part in the hands on training workshops it has organized.

Scope of the note This note contains the report on the fourth meeting of the CGE under its revised guidelines held in Maputo, Mozambique, on 14 and 15 April 2005.

The study of Environmental Health in Ireland also requires students to undertake a period of professional practice with the Health Service Executive.

To prepare for a career of care giving, medical students and young doctors clearly require something besides scientific and technological training.

The advantages of mentorships are that hands on training over a period of several months can be provided and, during that period, a much clearer picture can be obtained of local obstacles to enhanced international legal cooperation.

In 1971 the period of initial service was reduced to six months, followed by a total of sixty days of refresher training in the reserves.

The in service training programme was boosted by the construction and renovation of regional training centres in Bo, Kenema and Makeni, funded by UNDP.

That is already being done in practice.

The global hands on training workshop on mitigation assessments was held from 26 to 30 September 2005 in Seoul, Republic of Korea.

As previously reported, the Police Reserve Unit received closely supervised in service training until its first operational deployment on 29 November 2004.
