The Committee recommends that States parties take all necessary measures to ensure that all children are registered at birth, inter alia by using mobile registration units, and make birth registration free of charge.

However, stronger partnerships are needed to build capacity in the civil administration systems on which sustained birth registration depends.

One of the prime reasons why it is important to register births is that it can assist in prosecuting an offender of commercial child sexual exploitation.

6. Recommends that States and international intergovernmental organizations should report to the Office for Outer Space Affairs on new developments relating to their practice in registering space objects.
