C. Implementation of the multi year programme of work

The Government is committed to implementing the World Programme of Action.

The programme of work as presented is provisional.

We are pleased to see from the work programme that all of the first national reports from countries will be examined in the period covered by the work programme.

UNCITRAL expanded programme of work

The different components of the programme of work are discussed below.

UNEP provides the secretariat for the Global Programme of Action Coordination Office, located in The Hague, which is developing national programmes of action for the implementation of the Global Programme of Action in some 40 countries.

The agenda represented the priorities set out at the World Summit and reflected the reform agenda of the Secretary General.

Canada has an annual support programme for organizations working to implement the World Programme of Action concerning Disabled Persons.

14.1 The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) is responsible for the implementation of the work programme under this section.

Within the context of a global employment agenda, ILO has developed a decent work agenda that emphasizes employment, rights at the workplace, social protection and social dialogue.
