In order to redress this situation, the increased participation of LDCs in the global trading system a major objective reiterated in the Millennium Declaration needs increased support from the international community.

Its role in promoting international policy coordination in an integrated and coherent manner was recognized, and UNCTAD's contribution towards the better integration of developing countries into the global trading system was appreciated.
