The revised text had done a great deal to narrow earlier differences on the subject.

She pointed out that the revised text pursued the same objectives as the previous version, while taking into account the adoption of General Assembly resolution 48 26.

1.3 The revised text of the Staff Regulations incorporating the amendments referred to above is attached to the present bulletin.

In light of the short time available to us, this revised text was not discussed and might require further consideration.

Second Revised text of Annex XII International Maritime Organization (IMO) to the Convention on the Privileges and Immunities of the Specialized Agencies.

The revisions were subsequently incorporated into a revised text (A C.3 60 L.52 Rev.1).

The revised text would be submitted to the Second Committee for consideration during the fiftieth session of the General Assembly.

26. In introducing the revised negotiating text, the Chairman indicated that the new text was the result of consultations among delegations from all regional groups and aimed at improving the original negotiating text to the extent possible.

Other proposals made in informal consultations are reflected in the revised Chairman's text.

Taking into account the report of the Ad Hoc Committee, Official Records of the General Assembly, Forty ninth Session, Supplement No. 22 (A 49 22). in particular the revised negotiating text resulting from the work of the Ad Hoc Committee,

25. The work of the Ad Hoc Committee at its two 1994 sessions resulted in the revised negotiating text reproduced in paragraph 28 below.

In this light, I would suggest that the latest revision of the draft preambular paragraph, circulated on 29 July 2005, be used as the basis for the next round of discussions.

The Secretariat has today made available that document, which contains the revised text of that draft resolution, which we would like to see the Committee adopt on Monday.

As a result of intensive consultations with interested delegations, we believe that the revised text provides grounds for broader support, and we appeal to all delegations to consider it favourably.

Some delegations reiterated their preference for the opt in procedure, as contained in the third bracketed paragraph in the revised Chairman's text.

This revision took into account the discussions which had taken place during the Secretary General apos s informal consultations held in November 1993.

This is perhaps due to the fact that my delegation has not been given a chance to introduce the revised version of our amendment, contained in document A 49 L.15 Rev.1.

The Ad Hoc Committee also recommends that the revised Chairman's text, as contained in annex I to the present report, be used as the basis of work of the Working Group.

16. According to its programme of work the Conference commenced by hearing general statements by representatives on the revised negotiating text (A CONF.164 13 Rev.1).

Before concluding, I should like to express our gratitude to all the delegations that have contributed constructively and with a great deal of flexibility to the drafting of this revised text.

Her delegation accepted the language that had been the focus of the most recent informal consultations however, it called for the deletion of the brackets found in article III of the Chairman's revised text.

Nevertheless, the draft submitted by the Russian Federation provided an excellent basis for future deliberations on the matter.
