In standard analyses, the tax cut brings a reduction in government purchases of goods and services, like defense.

Procurement refers to the acquisition of goods and services by any individual or organization (public, private, international, etc.).

Under direction of the Procurement Officer and according to relevant guidelines, conducts requisite bidding for procurement contracts, submits documentation to the Contracts Committee for review acceptance, and subsequently prepares purchase orders contracts for goods and services for the mission.

In spite of a further significant increase in the volume of procurement during 2004, the Procurement Service has worked hard to reduce the lead times for goods and services being provided to peacekeeping missions during the reporting period.

Work is also under way to validate our procurement system to ensure that it meets the highest global standards and to develop policy guidance on the provision of pro bono goods and services.

Responsible for all procurement of goods and services, both locally and regionally, within the terms of the authority specifically delegated to the mission and according to all relevant rules, regulations and guidelines.

In accordance with sound banking principles, the IsDB has put in place detailed business guidelines and procedures applicable to the procurement of goods and services, disbursement of funds and dealing with counterparties.
