Development of national strategies for the development of statistics methodology the Partnership offers methodological advice and documentation, targeting different audiences and purposes.

Time use surveys as part of national household survey programmes and collecting statistics desegregated by gender on time spent on activities both in the household and on the labour market.

The handbook contains recommendations on good practices, which should also help to make national statistics more comparable.

It looks at the extent to which official national statistics, as differentiated from internationally prepared estimates, are available in various areas of concern.

These projects assist national statistical offices in strengthening institutional capacities in industrial statistics such as the implementation of annual establishment surveys covering aspects of business registers, sampling, survey design, data editing and processing, statistical analysis and dissemination.

Technical services are offered to developing countries and economies in transition to build the capabilities of their national statistical offices in the collection, processing and diffusion of industrial statistics.

The dialogue could also contribute to the building and sustenance of stakeholders' interest in the production and dissemination of statistics and the development of a national statistical capacity.

The Partnership supports country efforts to design, implement and monitor their national strategies for the development of statistics primarily through the following types of activities

In cooperation with the Statistics Division of the Department of Economic and Social Affairs, the Monitoring and Research Division mobilized a network of national statistics offices to collect urban statistics.

This could help maximize the use of data and in the process create a demand for statistics that would strengthen the claim of statistical offices on the national budget
