Implementation strategy

By its decision 7 CP.9, the COP decided to extend the mandate of the LEG under its original terms of reference and to review the progress, need for continuation and terms of reference of the group at its eleventh session.

The implementation strategy involves three combined approaches

To support these activities, a cross ministry strategy has been developed that identifies the implementation priorities for the report.

The initiative had already delivered tangible results in the form of the Multilateral Framework of Understandings on Resettlement which had been completed in June 2004 and then endorsed by the Executive Committee and now needed to be put into practice.

Pursuant to decision 8 COP.4, all other affected developing country Parties are expected to complete their programmes by the end of 2005.

All efforts should focus on translating the Mauritius Strategy for Implementation into concrete action on the ground in order to address those States' vulnerability and for implementation to be country driven by the States themselves, on the basis of their own national sustainable development strategies.

The trouble is that the eurozone has an austerity strategy but no growth strategy.

But this is a mistaken strategy.

Hope is not a strategy.
