Lyle Yost invented an auger that would lift grain out of a combine in 1947, making unloading grain much easier.

Movement and transportation of hazardous cargo is categorised into groups according to hazard levels, and certain areas for loading unloading and storage are assigned for each category.

Although cargo can be lost at sea (or damaged in a train derailment or truck collision), there are many more cases of cargo damage during the loading and unloading operations.

Handling is defined in Section 4 of the Act as each and every activity involving hazardous substance such as manufacturing, storage, treatment, transport, loading, unloading, trade, commerce, import, export, transfer, use and destruction.

Airlines and pilots are notified of the presence of chemical materials (hazardous) on an aircraft. However, such materials are not loaded separately from other cargo unless they are subject to strict packing, loading and unloading conditions.
