The Chairman of the Training Committee further proposed that he would consult with the Division for Ocean Affairs and the Law of the Sea on the modalities of the cooperation between the Commission and the Division.

19. Each request for financial assistance shall be considered by the Division for Ocean Affairs and the Law of the Sea of the Office of Legal Affairs ( the Division ), which acts as the secretariat of the Commission.

In the last few years, the Enforcement Division of the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Labor boosted its activities under the Equal Employment Opportunities Law and the Prevention of Sexual Harassment Law.

At that session, UNCITRAL gave guidance to the International Trade Law Branch (subsequently renamed International Trade Law Division) on how to increase cooperation with other organizations that formulate rules on international trade.

(a) To promote appreciation and use of UNCITRAL texts, the International Trade Law Branch Division should increase the range and breadth of its technical assistance in the field of trade law reform.

The Division also held 1,326 inspections of workplaces regarding the publication of the code of practice in accordance with the Sexual Harassment Law.

(a) Marine mineral resources scientific advances and economic perspectives (in collaboration with the Division for Ocean Affairs and the Law of the Sea)

A request for the use of the fund was received by the Division for Ocean Affairs and the Law of the Sea in 2004.

The Authority maintained its close relationship with the Division of Ocean Affairs and the Law of the Sea of the Office of Legal Affairs.

The benefits of mainstreaming were maximized by placing the new Indigenous Law and Justice Branch within the same division as the Legal Assistance Branch.

This includes donations from individuals as well as from institutions and libraries, including from the Division for Ocean Affairs and the Law of the Sea and the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea.

I would like to compliment the Secretariat of the Division for Ocean Affairs and the Law of the Sea for preparing the reports, specially its Director, Mr. Vladimir Golitsyn, whose leadership of the Division has given focus and renewed impetus to its work.

In that regard, we appreciate the regional training courses conducted by the Division for Ocean Affairs and the Law of the Sea in Fiji and Sri Lanka and welcome the efforts made by the Division to organize training courses in Ghana and Argentina.

The Director of the Division for Ocean Affairs and the Law of the Sea, Office of Legal Affairs of the United Nations Secretariat, opened the meeting.

Authored numerous judgments sitting singly, in Division Bench and Full Bench of the High Court reported extensively in all the leading law journals of the country.

We welcome the work of the Division for Ocean Affairs and the Law of the Sea in assisting to build the capacity of States preparing submissions.

The Marriage and Family Law also ensures equality in division of common properties of husband and wife when divorced, especially the division of land use rights and housing by stipulating that all valuable properties must be registered in the names of husband and wife.
