The admissibility assessment is ongoing. Once specific cases are selected, my Office will again assess whether or not those cases are, or have been, the subject of genuine national investigations or prosecutions.

A proposal has been approved for, and the Office of the Prime Minister has committed funding to unblock, an assessment of informal settlements needed to design a regularization strategy and action plan.

Therefore the contract was never finalized by UNCC and the United Nations Office at Geneva, despite efforts by the Office of Internal Oversight Services to resolve the contract in line with the same procedures used when the same consultant had carried out a previous risk assessment for it.

As indicated in the assessment submitted by the ICTY Prosecutor, one of the main concerns of her Office with regard to Kosovo related cases has to do with the insufficient protection of witnesses.

To date, the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime has provided technical assistance under the Global Assessment Programme to over 50 countries in the form of training, situation analysis and network establishment.
