In this context, it was suggested that the operation of the Trade and Development Board should be improved, and the link between the Board and the General Assembly on trade and development issues should be strengthened through, inter alia, a revival of the joint meeting between the Board and the Second Committee on the General Assembly's agenda item on trade and development.

IE Singapore is the former Trade Development Board (TDB) that was in charge of promoting Singapore's external trade until its name change in 2002.

Item 7 Adoption of the report of the Working Party to the Trade and Development Board

The UNCTAD secretariat has provided to the Trade and Development Board a draft methodology on the matter.

The report of the Commission on its ninth session will be submitted to the Trade and Development Board.

The Trade and Development Board warmly welcomes the generous offer of Ghana to host UNCTAD XII in 2008.

On January 13, 2008 electronic trading at the Chicago Board of Trade shifted onto the Mercantile Exchange's computer system.

The merger agreement was passed by shareholders of both CME and the Chicago Board of Trade on July 9, 2007.

The UNCTAD Trade and Development Board had been reviewing regularly the progress made in implementation of the Programme of Action.

In that view, the primary emphasis in regional integration is on trade liberalization, involving across the board removal of tariffs through the formation of a free trade area or customs union.

The operation of the Trade and Development Board should be improved and its joint meeting with the Second Committee on the General Assembly's agenda item on trade and development should be revived.

Comment by the Administration. The matter was referred to the governing bodies of UNCTAD the Trade and Development Board and the Working Party.

The report of the Commission will be adopted at its final plenary meeting and submitted to the Trade and Development Board for consideration.
