One of the most disappointing aspects of UNDP gender mainstreaming has been its limited attempts to build understanding among the staff through formal training, mentoring or evaluation.

The range of country level monitoring, evaluation and research efforts will continue to be presented through evaluations at the country programme level, on the UNICEF website and through examples reported to the Executive Board as part of annual reporting.
