The Secretary General, pursuant to staff regulations 12.2, 12.3 and 12.4 and staff rule 112.2 (a), hereby promulgates the text of the amendments to the 100 Series of the Staff Rules promulgated in Secretary General's bulletin ST SGB 2002 1. The text of the amendments is attached to the present bulletin.

1.3 The revised text of the Staff Regulations incorporating the amendments referred to above is attached to the present bulletin.

The Secretary General has commissioned the design of a user friendly orientation and information booklet for distribution in the latter part of 2005 to all staff based on the Secretary General's bulletin on the status, basic rights and duties of United Nations staff members (ST SGB 2002 13).

In 1973, the Accounting Principles Board was replaced by the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) under the supervision of the Financial Accounting Foundation with the Financial Accounting Standards Advisory Council serving to advise and provide input on the accounting standards.
