A presentation on intellectual property and traditional knowledge by WIPO considered different objectives for the use of, and forms of protection for, traditional knowledge.

The programme has evolved from fact finding and needs assessment to a more detailed analysis of objectives, general guiding principles and specific substantive provisions for the legal protection of indigenous traditional knowledge.
