Ms. Tchitanava (Georgia) said that the issues related to internally displaced persons were particularly acute for Georgia.

National institutions therefore need to be supported in order to ensure that the property and other rights related to refugees and internally displaced persons are properly addressed.

Older persons have specific health problems, mainly related to their age, but there are also the problems caused by the difficult social and economic conditions.

Lastly, as 40 per cent of prisoners in Greece had drug related problems, persons suffering from substance addiction were being transferred to specific detoxification centres.

While it is encouraging that the Government appears to be taking a more rights based approach in its policies related to persons with disabilities, until these policies take effect, the rights of disabled persons to an adequate standard of living must nonetheless be ensured.

Malawi declared that, in its efforts to curb and stamp out offences related to trafficking in persons, especially women and children, it had embarked upon various social and legal reforms to incorporate obligations emanating from article 16, paragraph 4, of the Trafficking in Persons Protocol.

Finally, it should be noted that the amendments to the Federal Penal Code also include increased penalties for the offences of terrorism and related acts, as well as the exclusion of early release for persons convicted of terrorism and related acts.

Persons belonging to groups solely defined as linguistic minorities might similarly be held to have only those special minority rights which are related to education and use of their language.

In the country offices they are variously expected to be sources of expertise, contact persons for headquarters, collectors of gender and women related information, and internal advocates.

Security checks are performed on persons, luggage and related articles and motor cars through the use of technologically advanced equipment (electronic detection gates for persons, X ray equipment for checking luggage, fiberscopes and mirrors for vehicles)

According to data provided by the administering Power, from January to December 2004, 1,760 persons were arrested for minor offences, such as those related to liquor, disorderly conduct and immigration violations.

As provided by the resolutions, these Decrees provide for enforcing sanctions related to the Taliban and Osama bin Laden, including a specific list of designated persons and entities.

The conclusions of the successful workshop on legislation related to trafficking in persons organized by the Government of Myanmar with the support of UNODC will be followed up.

4. Invites all relevant agencies and bodies of the United Nations system to coordinate better their response to the global ageing of populations and to integrate within their respective mandates their programmes and activities related to older persons, taking into account the importance of the perspective of older persons

Partial physical disability of people is connected with the growing trend of disability and the increased number of persons affected by work related diseases.

To ensure access by persons with disabilities and their families living in situations of poverty to assistance from the State with disability related expenses, including adequate training, counselling, financial assistance and respite care.

As mentioned above, States parties to the Trafficking in Persons Protocol are not precluded from criminalizing in their domestic legislation any individual conducts related to any of the stages of the trafficking process.

Also, refugees and displaced persons still face a desperate predicament, as the slow pace of the returns process is hindering the achievement of the related standard.

The Government has given banks established in the territory latitude to monitor the names of persons and establishments considered to be terrorists or to be involved in terrorist related activities transmitted by the United Nations.
