The report provides an assessment of the overall situation in the country, including progress made in implementing the Comprehensive Peace Agreement, as well as progress achieved towards the mandated objectives of UNMIS since my previous report to the Council, dated 23 June 2005 (S 2005 411).

In my view the organisation is well run, a view that is endorsed by a number of independent reviews and accolades on the progress made by the organisation.
