B. Core regular resource funding multi year financing frameworks and assessed contributions

It forms part of, and underpins, the multi year funding framework, 2004 2007.

All funding is paid in advance and some donors fund multi year projects up front.

The sixth pledging event in the context of the multi year funding framework took place in January 2005.

Supplementary funding may yield higher volumes of resources in a given year but does not necessarily lead to assured multi year pledging, which is a condition for the effective long term programming of development cooperation activities.

In its decision 2004 10, the Executive Board approved the multi year funding framework (MYFF) of the United Nations Development Fund for Women (UNIFEM) for the period 2004 2007.

This would entail multi year planning and budgeting.
