(iv) Interest and miscellaneous income. Interest income arising from the RPTC is credited to the General Fund however, the miscellaneous income relating to the RPTC is credited to the special account.

a) Other income includes interest income and miscellaneous income in the range of 3 million per annum.

Estimated income falls under two categories (a) cost reimbursement for field offices and (b) miscellaneous income.

MISCELLANEOUS INCOME Estimated miscellaneous income for 2006 2007 amounts to 1,538,400 in the regular budget and 315,200 in the operational budget, details of which are shown in the following paragraphs.

(c) Other income. Other income consists mainly of interest income, gains losses as a result of exchange rate movements and other miscellaneous items.

Additional income was derived from miscellaneous sources, such as currency exchange adjustments, interest income, inter fund transfers and other adjustments.

9.2 Income derived from investments shall be credited to miscellaneous income or as provided in the rules relating to each fund or account.

A further 61 million (3 per cent) was derived from other sources (including interest and miscellaneous income).

Any income received for these or other miscellaneous items during the biennium will be recorded against other income and reported in the financial performance reports.

(vi) Proceeds from the sale of surplus property are credited to the miscellaneous income of the respective funds.

Of the total miscellaneous income, an amount of 171,127 relates to CTBTO support costs charged on BMS activities.

Total funds available consist of voluntary contributions, interest and miscellaneous income, currency exchange adjustments, transfers and adjustments, and beginning fund balances.

These include pledges of voluntary contributions, contributions from governmental, intergovernmental or non governmental sources and related interest earnings, and miscellaneous income.

(b) To decide on the treatment of other income adjustments for the period ended 30 June 2004 amounting to 28,284,000 from interest income ( 4,631,000), other miscellaneous income ( 957,000), prior period adjustments ( 10,000) and savings on or cancellation of prior period obligations ( 22,686,000).

Miscellaneous income earned under the operational budget falls under the same categories as that of the regular budget and is subject to the same considerations.

13.15 Miscellaneous income for the biennium 2006 2007 is currently projected at SwF 470,000, which is in line with the estimate of SwF 471,000 for the biennium 2004 2005.

5.11 Contributions of entities other than a State Party, an International Organization or the International Seabed Authority to the expenses of the Tribunal shall be treated as miscellaneous income.

Comment by the Administration. UN Habitat, in coordination with the United Nations Office at Nairobi, disclosed the sources of miscellaneous income in its 2004 financial statements (statements I and IV).

C. Other items Other items for which miscellaneous income has been received in prior biennia, but for which reliable estimates cannot be made are presented for the information of Member States.

During a biennium, one half of the revenue to the fund is credited to miscellaneous income to ensure that the anticipated credit against Member States' contributions for sales of publications is maintained.

Contributions and miscellaneous income (including currency exchange gains) received in the course of the year amounted to US 805.2 million for the Annual Programme Budget plus US 10 million for Junior Professional Officers (JPO).

Provision is made for miscellaneous services such as bank charges, legal fees, miscellaneous claims and adjustments and for postage for personal mail for the military personnel.
