The WTO stands on two legs non discriminatory trade liberalization and uniform rule making and enforcement. With the former eliminated, the most important institution of global free trade would be crippled.

Those policies should include trade liberalization.

C. Trade liberalization and poverty reduction

A universal, rules based, open, non discriminatory and equitable multilateral trading system, as well as meaningful trade liberalization, can substantially stimulate development worldwide, benefiting countries at all stages of development.
