57 8. Open ended Panel of the General Assembly on Afghanistan one year later

To manually control the axes, the enabling switch on the back of the control panel (the KCP, or KUKAControlPanel) must be activated (today only with a panic function).

Taking note of the summary by the President of the General Assembly of the open ended panel of the Assembly on commodities,A 58 615, annex.

The Panel also notes that the patient diagnosis profile in Saudi Arabia for in patient visits is obtained from a highly urbanized section of the control area.

Recommends that the General Assembly consider the budget implications of the present resolution for the International Narcotics Control Board, in particular the work of its secretariat concerning precursor control

Although Iraq s interim constitution gave the Assembly exclusive control over the drafting process, the Assembly wisely reached out beyond its membership in creating a constitutional drafting committee.

Concerning control of substances, the Assembly encouraged States to establish or strengthen mechanisms and procedures to ensure strict control of substances listed in the international drug control treaties and used to manufacture illicit drugs of natural and synthetic origin.

Discussions are in progress to establish a frame of reference that can be used as a kind of control panel, so as to monitor progress on combating desertification.

The Secretariat understands that the interactive hearings and the panel discussions would be held when the General Assembly and its working groups are not meeting.

Additional resources for the work of the Panel of Counsel are requested in accordance with paragraphs 25 and 28 of General Assembly resolution 59 283.

I issued a report (A 59 354) in September 2004 in response to the report of the Panel. I commended the report of the Panel to the attention of the General Assembly and made specific recommendations on how it could be implemented.

The Board notes that the implementation of the above mentioned control was a decision taken by the trilateral advisory panel which is made up of representatives of UNDP, UNFPA and UNOPS.

The more cautious Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence has set up a special panel to study what it calls the potential for loss of human control of computer based intelligences.

The Panel accordingly adopts the reasoning of the D1 Panel on this issue.
