The adoption of the Buenos Aires programme of work on adaptation and response measures (decision 1 CP.10) was a major step forward, although questions remain concerning implementation and financing.

SBSTA is developing a five year structured programme of work built around the following issues methodologies, data and modelling vulnerability assessments adaptation planning, measures and actions and integration into sustainable development.

The Buenos Aires conference had produced important results, in particular the programme of work on adaptation and response measures, and the seminar of governmental experts held in Bonn in May 2005.
