Implementation of resolution 1572 (2004) at the level of the European Union

In an attempt to make the resolution less politicized, we introduced a number of amendments to try to make it more balanced when it was under consideration at the expert level.

Now that we have an action plan, we ought to move forward and establish a focal point and an expert level working group to ensure the integration of resolution 1325 (2000) into the Council's work.

The Committee went on to hold that the necessary preliminary policymaking step represented by the first resolution was an important and practical component necessary for the realization of the right to housing.
