That appears to be a common problem with particular professional groups, such as police gendarmes or soldiers, and not merely in situations of crisis.

It reiterated its request to the Government to provide statistical information disaggregated by sex indicating the earnings received and the number of men and women employees in the various occupational categories in both the public and the private sectors, in accordance with its general observation of 1998.
