The following month, the Counter Narcotics Directorate (originally established under the National Security Council) was elevated to a full ministry, the Ministry of Counter Narcotics.

The Security Council welcomes the briefing by the Chairman of the Counter Terrorism Committee (CTC) on the work of the Committee.

Countries should strengthen their capacity for border control as well as their law enforcement and intelligence agencies to combat terrorism effectively, with a view to the full implementation of the universal counter terrorism instruments and Security Council resolution 1373 (2001).

The Security Council reiterates its determination to combat all forms of terrorism, in accordance with its responsibilities under the Charter of the United Nations.

The Security Council invites the CTC to continue reporting on its activities at regular intervals.
