The efficacy of DDT and its alternatives is important information for deciding the actual need for DDT for disease vector control in any local area.

The CCD process is also viewed as an opportunity to develop regional and international cooperation, notably in the fields of scientific research, information exchange, technology transfer and training.

To foster timely information exchange among counter terrorism practitioners, the OSCE established a Counter Terrorism Network (CTN) in 2004, providing practical training and capacity building information to all 55 participating States.

The objective of this mechanism is to facilitate optimisation of information flows, foster a closer cooperation and collaboration between terrorism fighting entities, and make joint analyses.
