Reviving the Quartet

The Quartet is worthy of the homeland.

But Obama s peace envoy, George Mitchell, resigned, and the quartet (the United Nations, the European Union, Russia, and the United States) was sidelined.

The Quartet should consult with the individual parties and to specify them further. What does Israel s security mean and require?

The current EU presidency was able to convince the US administration that reviving the Quartet could be useful.

We believe that the Quartet's road map can lead the Israeli and Palestinian peoples to that goal.

The Quartet strongly reiterated its commitment to the two state solution, and to Israeli withdrawal as a way to re energize the Roadmap.

The Security Council also welcomes the upcoming Quartet' meeting at the ministerial level which will convene in the margins of the London meeting.
